Youth and arrogance

My work consists of paintings done mostly in technique oil on canvas. Portraits and figures are main
motive in my paintings. I tend to represent different scenes where people are the carriers of the whole
atmosphere. I make dynamic with color and I like to play with light and shadow. That contrast between
them keeps inspiring me, and I’ve been exploring it for some time now. How colors behave in shadows
and, on the other hand, how they behave in light, has been one of the main occupations in my painting
practice.
Format of my paintings is usually 50cm x 70cm, with both smaller and larger, more monumental works.
It depends on a topic whether I would pick bigger or smaller dimensions. I think that the size is not the
indicator of the value of one painting, however it can effect the impact that it has on its viewers.
Knowing that, painter must decide what he wants to achieve with his work and accordingly pick the
format.
Eye contact, face movements have always been intriguing to me and that is why I always paint people. I
want to represent big palette of emotions combine with rich, impressionistic palette. As a painter I am a
big fan of vibrant colors and colors in general. I think that constant questioning of light is one of the
main tasks that every painter has in his practice.
