Joseph Stalin (1878 - 1953)

Joseph Stalin served as the leader of the Soviet Union from the mid-1920s until his death in 1953. He played a central role in transforming the Soviet Union into a major world power, overseeing rapid industrialization and leading the country through World War II. His policies, however, were marked by repression, purges, and authoritarianism, resulting in millions of deaths.
