Cuban Revolution (1953-1959)

Led by Fidel Castro and his guerilla forces, the Cuban Revolution aimed to overthrow the regime of Fulgencio Batista. The revolution gained momentum with widespread support, culminating in Batista's ousting on January 1, 1959. Castro's rise to power marked the establishment of a communist government in Cuba, sparking tensions with the United States and setting the stage for Cold War rivalries in the Western Hemisphere.
