The Columbia Icefield area always provides some stunning views, and often some dramatic weather to go with it. I loved the play of sunlight which was shining through the quickly moving clouds and constantly lighting up different parts of the landscape. I focused this painting on the contrast between the warm and cool colours in the snow. The red adventure bus added a great colourful element and a sense of scale to the painting.
