NOHA AND SEDRA , 2016

Noha, accompanied by her four-month-old daughter Sedra, arrived alongside Elisabet Cairo. Back in Egypt, Noha was a dentist holding a Master's degree. She migrated to the United States with her physician husband, who is engaged in cancer research at Cornell Medical School on a fellowship. In Cairo, they enjoyed stability, with fulfilling careers and a comfortable home. However, the political unrest and changes in Egypt led them to seek opportunities elsewhere.

Previously, Noha's husband worked for the National Institute of Health in Egypt, while Noha herself was highly regarded in her profession as a dentist. Both hailed from families of professionals, with her mother being a lawyer. Transitioning to life in the U.S. has proven challenging. Noha finds herself in a state of isolation, unable to practice dentistry without further education.
