I love this kind of vibrant portrayal of our rugged mountains under a spectacular sky. Using tissue paper and drywall compound applied to the canvas in a somewhat haphazard way until the shape and path of the rocky formations present themselves. From here I more clearly define the edges of the rock and placement of the snow left to stay where it can.

I feel embraced by the power of the Rockies when I paint them.
