Through these two portraits of my dog, I show her snout, a defining feature. Though it is difficult to infer her character traits, I have presented her since she is drastically different to my other works. It was difficult to be precise with graphite due to the sheer quantity of fur but I thought about shapes and shadows to achieve a detailed portrayal. I took a similar approach with the painting but allowed messier strokes, focusing more on colour and shadow transitions.
