This is a rework of Vincent Van Gogh’s ‘Rest from Work’. I repositioned the figures to look stressed by covering their faces. It is juxtaposed alongside the Frankfurt bustling skyline. Keeping the vibrancy and techniques of Van Gogh's style, I explore false realities with impasto brush strokes, using pure hues and mixing on the canvas. Impasto is a key part of this as the texture gives prominence to various features. This earlier work gave rise to my interest in distorted realities.
