I reworked the masterpiece ‘Chiron and Achilles’ to convey my desire for freedom and need for mentorship to find it (hence I take the place of Achilles as Chiron’s pupil). The butterflies symbolise transformation; the falcon represents freedom and the quotes reflect the bond between mentor and mentee. I painted the background with oil paint and outlined the clouds in gold. I drew the figures in pencil on elephant paper and glued images of butterflies, music notes and quotes to the background.
