Wall decoration: The legend of King Bahram , 650-750

This panel shows King Bahram Gur and his lady Azadeh, holding a lyre, on hunting on camelback. It is far several centuries younger than the date ascrived to silver plates with simialr scenes, clearly demonstrating the persistence of popular imagery.
Excavated in 1936 at Rayy (Chal Turkhan, Iran),
