HAWAIIAN REINCARNATION
27.5 x 24 x 2.5 in (h x w x d)
Acrylic on Koa wood

Hawaii stands as the sole state in the U.S. with its own official language, boasting an inherently minimalist lexicon comprised of just 12 distinct sounds ( written on the beach sand).
In homage to Hawaiian culture and IZ Kamakawiwo'ole, a revered Hawaiian musician and singer-songwriter (Somehwere over the Rainbow). IZ's presence resonates through the imagery of seashell and flowers delicately painted upon the surface of Koa wood.
Koa, meaning bold, fearless, warrior, mirrors Iz's robust physical stature, fittingly as it is Hawaii's largest tree. Symbolic of Hawaiian heritage, Koa wood finds itself intertwined with the culture, finding utility in crafting surfboards and ukuleles alike.
