Ink on paper

Magda Bond is an emerging artist working mainly with the medium of analogue photography and alternative photographic processes. Her creative side emerged early on, but she decided to pursue other career options available at the time, only to get back to art within last few years. The long bottled up need for creativity resulted in Magda’s intuitive approach, namely experimenting and trying new techniques out starting with Cyanotypes, Lith, through Mordançage process, Caffenol, onto Pinhole camera and Tintype photography.
Magda lives in Bristol, a very creative city that has some wonderful people happy to share their photographic expertise with others. She honed her analogue photography skills with Tim Pearce from the Negative Thinking, and got introduced to alternative processes with Sophie Sherwood, Amy Koenig and Martin Edwards from the Bristol Folk House.

''I love experimenting with light sensitive materials and various chemistry to push boundaries of what analogue photography can do to feed my creative side.
I find joy in trying out new things in the darkroom and jumping from one photographic process into another, experimenting and learning along the way. I love the playful aspect of learning something new and then trying to combine it with what I already know. Accidental creations are my favourite.
My other major love is the cyanotype process which I regularly expand upon, incorporating digital transfer film of photos I've taken or adding colour to the paper before covering it with the cyanotype solution.
Joy of experimentation and a drive to learn are the major aspects which encompass my artwork and push me to create.''
