ABOUT ASHLEY PEMBERTON!

Ashley Pemberton, a 22-year-old artist based in Macon, GA, specializes in acrylic and oil paint on canvas, crafting pieces that celebrate Black queer joy. As a Black autistic lesbian of Caribbean descent, her art is a reflection of her unique identity and experiences. Ashley aims to amplify narratives often overlooked in mainstream discourse. She finds a harmonious balance between her Caribbean roots and the cultural tapestry of the American South, a celebration of the beauty found in the convergence of seemingly disparate elements. Her work serves as a celebration of diversity, resilience, and the beauty found within marginalized communities. Her work has been featured at the Tubman African American Museum in Macon, GA as well as the Plunkett Gallery at Mercer University.
