In the artist's words: "I created this drawing during lockdown when I had to leave the UK and return home to Italy due to my deteriorating health. Feeling utterly exhausted and at my lowest mentally, being surrounded by family and friends brought a healing, maternal sense of safety. However, my heart remained incomplete, torn by the distance from my lover. This piece captures the bittersweet duality of finding comfort and support in the familiar while longing for the one who makes me feel whole."
