ARTIST STATEMENT

As an artist who works with oil on canvas, my focus is predominantly on figurative representations of female subjects and their moods, states of mind, and situations. Through my artwork, I aim to capture the emotional nuances of my subjects, who serve as intermediaries for various emotional states.
My artistic process involves delving into the complexities of the human experience, particularly through the lens of femininity. I explore the multifaceted nature of emotions, ranging from joy to sorrow, from serenity to turmoil, and from vulnerability to strength. My figures serve as conduits for these emotions, portraying them through subtle nuances of facial expressions, body language, and gestures.
I often draw from personal experiences and observations, as well as from wider social and cultural contexts, to depict the diverse range of emotions that women experience in different situations and stages of life. Through my work, I aim to convey the universality of these emotions, as well as the individuality of each subject.
My use of oil on canvas allows me to create rich and textured surfaces that add depth and dimension to my figures, adding to the overall emotional impact of my artwork. The interplay of light and shadow, color and form, and the intricate details in my paintings are carefully crafted to evoke a sense of intimacy and connection with the viewer.
Ultimately, my art serves as a visual exploration of the human soul, delving into the complexities of emotions and the human experience through the portrayal of female subjects. I invite viewers to engage with my artwork, to reflect on their own emotions, and to connect with the shared humanity.
