The two artworks presented are based on reflecting upon what is understood as achievement, as victory, in contemporary times.
In this work, the subject holds as a trophy the monument representing the Goddess of Victory, located in the waters of Canal Itajurú, Cabo Frio/RJ/Brazil. Over time and due to the force of currents, the column has tilted, giving rise to the monument's popular name "Fallen Angel". The painting addresses the fact that often we do not recognize or value the small daily achievements. Just as the monument, which is part of the city's everyday life, risks being unseen, unnoticed, and consequently disconnected from its original meaning, we also have a strong tendency to ignore the small steps, the victories. The trophies of each day need to be raised for the constitution of individuals within the community.
