Peeping

Peeping

This collection aimed to zoom in on the intimate areas of the body. Women’s bodies are often censored in modern media and considered too explicit for viewership. By focusing solely on these areas, these pieces aim to confront viewers with supposed ‘taboos’ and prompt a conversation about who is in the wrong. This comes from the pieces being staged behind a peephole, by choosing to look through the peephole an intimate yet uncomfortable encounter, questioning the boundaries between curiosity, respect, and intrusion is forced. This series aims to challenge societal norms and encourage a dialogue about voyeurism, objectification, and the importance of truthful representation of the female body. In reclaiming the narrative and presenting female genitalia unashamed, this series aims to empower and re-educate, past voyeurism and taboo, to respect and empathy.
