Ton Voortman (1948) was born in Rotterdam, where he graduated
from the Academy for Visual Arts, followed by an internship with
sculptors Gust Romijn and Huib Noorlander. After a career as an
independent graphic designer and illustrator, he focused completely
on sculpting again in 2005.

He works alternately in his studios in the Netherlands and France.
His work is the result of a constant search, in which the woman and
her clothing and its symbiosis occupy a crucial place.

His style could be described as abstract realism or romantic
surrealism, sometimes with a touch of humor.
Ton Voortman exhibited at Museum Møhlmann in Appingedam and
also in Belgium, Dubai, England, France, Guernsey, Italy and Spain. He
participated in the Holland Art Expo in London.

His sculptures have been included in various business and private
collections, both nationally and internationally.
