Breezing Up
6 x 10 in (h x w)

Pageant of the Masters re-creation of "Breezing Up" by Winslow Homer.

In 1966, Pageant director Don Williamson decided to try something new, opening up the curtain and assembling this artwork in front of the audience. He didn't know if they would enjoy this or reject it as a cheap stunt. It became the favorite moment of that and many future Pageants, what we now call "the builder." "Breezing Up" was featured as the first builder.
