For the first time in Melbourne’s history a State of Emergency and a curfew was declared as Covid 19 raged into a second wave. It became legal for residents to stay indoors from initially 8pm to 5am every day with an easing to 9pm to 5am after four weeks.
A new and strange quietness descended on the streets across all of metropolitan Melbourne. This illuminated sign on one of the major roads of Fitzroy flashed to remind us of something we were all too well aware of.
