Within the hub of live entertainment in Carlton and Fitzroy, colourful, creative and informative posters that advertised future gigs at local pubs and theatres, plus future performances by International stars began to disintegrate and peel off random walls.
All entertainment was cancelled, actors, musicians and comedians were without an income. The arts were abandoned by governments.
As the months went by and the pandemic escalated into a Stage 4 lockdown, entrepreneurial entertainers, using their own resources, began to create an online presence, via various social media platforms.
Solo performances were staged and watched in isolation in living rooms, bedrooms and kitchens across the state. Donations were given by the public who craved distraction and entertainment.
To date, there are not any live performances planned or any new posters pasted up. The walls are now totally colourless.
