BIRMANIA , 2007
200 x 100 x 5 cm (h x w x d)
The wave of protests in Burma, (also known as the Union of Myanmar) began in August 2007. The massive anti-government protests, against the then existing Military Junta, were brutally repressed and led to the massacre of monks and civilians. It was a persecution of dissidents and Buddhist priests, characterized by sexual violence, forced labor and the military recruitment of the elderly, women, adolescents and children.
