Seen from a second-story window at North Milwaukee Tower, a Fairbanks-Morse H-12-44 locomotive turns east while leading a train onto the Beer Line. These diesel-electric switchers were common on the Beer Line, as they could take tight curves and provide strong pulling power for the heavy trains. This one originated in Glendale Yard, immediately to the south and visible in the background. The tracks at the far right ran north to Green Bay and northwest to Horicon. Abbey-01-146-07
