Milwaukee's Beer Line: Then and Now

Left: Once serving as the waypoint between consumption and production of “the beer that made Milwaukee famous,” the Schlitz Terminal is occupied today by Schlitz Park, an office community.

Middle: Standing on the pedestrian path under the Holton Street Bridge looking south, the curve of North Commerce Street bends recognizably in both pictures. Though the tracks along Commerce are gone, a small piece of the historic trestle remains intact as a part of the Oak Leaf Trail.

Right: This vantage point from the east side of the Holton Street Bridge shows the vastly changed cityscape along the Milwaukee River.
