Emma

I will tell you she is writing her own story and proving many professionals wrong in what she is
able to do, and we couldn’t be prouder of our little tulip and all that she has taught us about life. Emma is quite the fighter. As a family, we are learning our “new normal”, and we are so thankful for her amazing big sister, Ava, who has helped us to see what love is all about! The bond they have is amazing. Emma recently started dance class and loves to dance with her sister.

Lissencephaly

Lissencephaly, which literally means “smooth brain”, is a rare, gene-linked brain malformation characterized by the absence of normal convolutions in the cerebral cortex and an abnormally small head. In the usual condition of lissencephaly, children have a normal-sized head at birth. In children with reduced head size at birth, the condition microlissencephaly is typically diagnosed.
