"I'm Speaking" pays homage to the incredible moments in the VP debates with Kamala Harris. The phrase encapsulates an experience that is all too familiar to women. The phrase is cut out, hovering above a sweeping vista as a gust of fresh air against a bulwark of history and tradition and silencing.

Annie Buckley is a multidisciplinary artist, writer, and educator with an emphasis on art and social justice. Her work embraces photography, collage, text, participatory art, curation, and art writing and has been included in numerous exhibitions, including at Los Angeles International Airport, and her “Hybrids” collages are represented by de Soto Gallery. Annie is the founder and director of Prison Arts Collective, dedicated to expanding access to the transformative power of the arts, and is a professor and Director of the School of Art + Design at San Diego State University. She has a BA from UC Berkeley and an MFA from Otis College of Art and Design.
