Pay what you feel.

My friend Dulia rang me up one day and asked if she could come and paint with me. This was before we became friends. I explained where I went was pretty extreme. I asked if she liked the cold, had appropriate clothes and if she had painted recently. The answer to each question was no. She added, you have everything I need. In truth, I did. So, one Autumn morning I picked her up from Geneva Airport train station and we went to paint the Rhone river near its source in Lake Geneva. As we neared the river, we realized something remarkable... not only were the colours of the trees beautiful, there was a perfect reflection of these trees in the river. This is extremely rare... if the world outside us reflects the world inside us, it meant both of us were at peace. The reflection stayed throughout the entire time we painted, which in my experience is even rarer. It was the first time I had taken someone painting and the environment remained that calm. Unsurprisingly, this led to us partnering on a number of projects and becoming friends.
