SpineTastic , 2019-2020
14 x 11 in (h x w)
Japanese Ink

SpineTastic depicts through a saguaro cactus how chondrosarcoma has affected my spine due to the amputation of my left pelvis. It has left me with a disability requiring me to use adaptive equipment, a twisted spine, a shorter right leg, and chronic pain.

I love drawing in black and white as it often depicts life more intimately and raw. I consider myself an emerging artist as I came to art through arts in medicine. I am an expressive and healing artist drawing body issue art depicting life losses and healing as well as botanicals, specifically cacti and succulents.
