Cliff House , 2020
80 x 60 x 3 cm (h x w x d)
Oil on canvas

This oil painting’s composition is a reduced house facade that I have designed on SketchUp, thus becoming the name’s inspiration. I used a pallet knife to create smooth colour fields reminiscent of Jason Anderson and his abstract paintings inspired by stained glass. I formed ‘rays’ coming from the facade that spilled over the canvas which created a composition that moved outwards, making it dynamic. I layered geometric shapes using different values of blue, grey, red and purple forming depth.
