The Opening’s composition was influenced by Jose Davila’s sculptures and I used sponges to create a rough texture for the box. The box, similar to Planes Interact, uses perspective in order to create depth. The canvas is landscape with the box floating and opening outwards indicating the opening motif that expands the piece outwards from the piece, which is a compositional quality that I used in Skydisks and Cliff house. The perspective lines emphasize the geometric shapes forming the box.
