I was inevitably put in the world I , 2020/21
100 x 80 x 2 cm (h x w x d)
Oil on canvas

This right half of the dyptisch depicts diverse people encircling a dead body and each one of them showing different reactions. The idea originates from the disconnection and disorientation in the world and the complexity and irrationality in human interactions. The dislocated and distorted figures and objects conveys a sense of the absurdity of reality and demonstrate the artist’s liberation from the constraints of consciousness and rationality. Inspired by Scared People: Death by Soul Eom.
