I don't feel you , 2018
100 x 240 x 2 cm (h x w x d)
: acrylic on canvas

The triptych was soon started after the painting “I don’t see you” and plays with a similar theme. 8 women heads touching each other in an almost impossible vicinity that must squeeze their unseen bodies in an uncomfortable closeness. The gazes seem to look at each other but they ever so slightly miss the gaze of the vis-à-vis. Again, the theme is the juxtaposition of physical intimacy, feeling of bodily closeness with the fuzzy separateness of state of mind and soul. For the artist today we have reached an adjacency that is probably unsurpassed in history. The artist ponders that we have done away with many barriers and found incredibly sophisticated ways to communicate and yet the success to achieve connectedness seems to be more allusive than ever. In order to “feel” the other we need to use our proximity to each other, our eye-contact has to include an honest readiness for reciprocity.
