We look upon a misty foggy scene where a ship and a small lifeboat emerge amongst glitches of beige and blue. The background is this beautiful azure colour with water stains on the paper perhaps where someone has left the piece outside in the rain and the colours have bled. In the bottom left corner, there is a type of scoring or etching that’s been smudged, gently fading into the scene of the emerging boats. This same kind of effect can be seen in the top right corner in a deep navy blue. The overall effect of the piece is one of tranquillity and serenity.
