Poem

This has been a very challenging year for many people in many different ways. I express that through this poem and highlight a few of the struggles that many people face.

I wanted to address the Black Lives Matter movement and pandemic, its disproportionate effects on people of color, the resulting increase in prejudice against Asian-Americans, and the racism, discrimination, and violence that people face on a day-to-day basis.

I started with examples that would resonate with people and posed hypothetical questions to enourage people to affect change. Instead of just imagining a world where things are better, I wanted to encourage people to work to make that our reality.
