Leopard kill
Category - Land Animal
[BPA2021-184]

The Leopard had just made a kill. We watched as she carried her prize towards the tree, in which she intended to cache this meal for her and her two young cubs. She reached the top of a granite slope and paused to catch her breath and survey the route ahead. The sound of her breathing, laboured from the effort of the carry, the intensity of her watchful gaze and the awesome power in her muscles relaxing briefly from the effort, were an experience never to be forgotten by this wide-eyed photographer, who was so captivated and consumed by the sensory overload, that he could barely remember to hit the shutter release.
