Artista e fotografa inglese. Le sue fotografie, ironiche, ludiche e talvolta surreali, mirano a sovvertire e mettere in discussione il rapporto tra immagine sociale e identità dei soggetti che raffigura.
“Seesaw” è una serie di autoritratti, scattati all’interno della sua abitazione o nelle sue immediate prossimità, che indaga i delicati e contraddittori fenomeni sociali emergenti nell’Inghilterra della pandemia. A partire da un’analisi della sua esperienza e dal disturbo ossessivo compulsivo di cui soffre, Bex Day realizza immagini che parlano di salute mentale e relazioni interpersonali, entrambe dimensioni esacerbate dall’isolamento e dalle restrizioni.

“Seesaw” is a series of self-portraits, taken inside her home or in its immediate vicinity, that investigates the delicate and contradictory social phenomena emerging in England during the pandemic. Starting from an analysis of her experience and the obsessive compulsive disorder she suffers from, Bex Day creates images that speak of mental health and interpersonal relationships, both dimensions exacerbated by isolation and restrictions.
