1953 | Jagar C Type

Designed by Malcolm Sayer

For the first time, Jaguar employed rack and pinion steering, and though the car was initially fitted with hydraulic drum brakes, these were later changed to the then-radical, new Dunlop disc brakes, transforming the C-Type into a force to be reckoned with in international racing. Its sleek aluminum body was designed by aerodynamicist Malcolm Sayer, working with Jaguar Chief Engineer Bill Heynes. The curvaceous and aerodynamically efficient new shape, while unlike its predecessors, was unmistakably that of a Jaguar.
