My name is Carissa DiPietro and I am a 100% disabled veteran. I served Active Duty Army in the 330th Transportation Battalion from 1999-2003. During my service I suffered two major traumas and didn’t think I would live to see the age of 40. I struggled to find my purpose in life, and I fell in love with telling my story and sharing my art. I am now 43 and feel like I have my whole life ahead of me. I’m currently enrolled at UW-Milwaukee (the same college my daughter goes to) and I’m studying art. I am a award winning songwriter, a theatre actress, a paper artist, photographer, mother of 5, wife and someone who wants to travel the world with my camera and my service dog.
