"Created with reverence for the sacred use of mushrooms as a sacrament.
On the hills and mountains above my studio in Wales grow the Psylicibin mushrooms that appear between October and November in abundance every year. Although the picking of these plants is outlawed, in days gone by they were certainly used by the Druids who lived in these lands as a sacred medicine.
In this painting we see Jesus behind an altar with these mushrooms on it as a sacrament. In his left hand he also holds an Amanita Mascaria which he appears to be blessing with his right hand. A mushroom is growing in his sacred heart. Behind him stands Buddha with arms outstretched. A mushroom appears to be growing from the crown of his head. This piece speaks of how teacher plants like these can help reveal sacred mysteries that are spoken of in spiritual/wisdom traditions. "
