Unfamiliar – “Burgess Park Peckham, April-June 2020. With lockdown, everything is brutally familiar, your home and your short walks. There is no shock of the new, no big revelation. I wanted to escape by re-seeing the everyday. I employed a technique where I use a system of filters on the camera to enter a completely new world hidden behind the everyday. The most mundane of spaces became the most fascinating. A place away from Covid and the tragedy of what’s happening. I genuinely felt more free and I hope others can feel a sense of escape within them too.”
