This work is titled, "El Matrimonio" due to the festive tonality of such an event. Although Dia de los Muertos may be observed as a moment of sadness and reflection, this multi-day holiday brings friends and family together to remember those dearly departed. Like so many countless couples that placed emphasis on marriage and courtship, this couple is alive and holds ground to the values of love, trust, and reliance on one another for all time. The dead are alive to celebrate the never-ending cycle of human tradition.
