Interacting with the Inanimate , 2020

Oil on Canvas Panel

I am inspired by the human form and human interaction. As a restaurant server and college student I am constantly interacting with the people around me, maybe even beyond the bounds of comfort. COVID-19 has forced me into a lifestyle that directly opposes my normal. Human connection is generally taken for granted. Due to the current state of the world, people are longing for connection. "Interacting with the Inanimate" draws a connection between the living and the inanimate in a time when the living are forced into separation, evaluating our connection to material things and the humanization of objects.
