Whilst exploring one of the many outlet glaciers found along Iceland's southern coast I discovered this beautiful heart shaped ice cave near the terminus. The complexities of the glacier are best appreciated from the air, where the fascinating patterns and textures can be more easily observed. This is a surprisingly large scene, the cave measuring approximately 10 metres across.
