San Francisco Olympic Bid: Poster , 2002
h = 60, d = 0.1 in

(actual size: 24”w x 36”h)

When San Francisco launched its bid for the 2012 Summer Olympics, I was invited to submit a poster concept that would herald our city and its forward-looking vision for the event. In response, I created a bold portrait of a woman suited up to swim. While a relatively simple act, I knew that making a woman in a heroic pose the central image for the Olympic Games would have given unprecedented visibility to female athletes.
