Central New York Railroad, East Winfield, New York , 1988
h = 50 in
archival pigment print

A bleak and quiet winter’s afternoon in central New York is broken by the sound of Alco RS3 no. 101 of the Central New York Railroad—a D&O subsidiary—as it brings a load of animal feed to a dealer in East Winfield, New York. The former Delaware, Lackawanna & Western’s Richfield Springs Branch—twenty–two miles in length—was acquired by the Delaware Otsego Corporation in 1973 and abandoned in 1995 due to insufficient traffic.
