Long Beach, CA

Growing up in Los Angeles, I have been surrounded by Dia de los Muertos my whole life. I learned about and celebrated it in school, attended to the ofrenda with friends and family, and celebrated with our own ofrenda with my sister-in-law and children last year. A friend of mine requested a Dia de los Muertos print recently and, while I am not Latina, I hope I have captured a part of the holiday in an appreciative way, with respect, yet in my own style.
