A roman road that linked Exeter in the southwest and Lincoln to the northeast, via Ilchester, Bath, Cirencester and Leicester now just a farm track near my house. This was painted during the early part of lockdown. Despite the inky blackness there is colour and a light at the end of the tunnel. The hard part about these compositions is keeping an open mind and maintaining the natural flow of materials whilst being true to the place and observing what is there.
