Motherhood is a whole new world. There is no manual to how we should parent. The first pregnancies are full of firsts and with these firsts there are learnings.
This image is depicting a bata (flower) which is blossoming and growing with each new learning from the journey of motherhood. We look to our families, our communities, our mobs to learn how we should begin to live this newfound title. Becoming a mum is so incredible, yet overwhelming.
Motherhood teaches you so many skills, too many to identify.
You learn unconditional love.
You learn vulnerability.
You learn to let go.
You learn your own strength.
You learn patience.
You learn forgiveness.
You learn trust.
You learn barriers.
You learn who will be there when things get tough.
You also learn who will be there when you are at your most vulnerable.
Flowers don’t always bloom. Flowers can sometimes loose petals. When they loose their petals, they regrow once they are ready to be repaired.
The yurringa (sun) helps this flower to bloom, and so to does the community which the flower is growing in. The earth beneath its roots provides the nurturing needed – like my connection to my Country, the spirit of who I am.
Remember to reach out if you need help growing.
