My Knowledge , 2020

The project I did is a mural of all the things I learned during this internship. During this internship, I had to get out of my comfort zone and needed to speak in front of the camera and meet many new people who I have never spoken to before. Previous to the internship I believed brainstorming was an easy thing to do, but I was challenged and proven wrong. It takes many steps to come up with an idea that all the members of the team agreed with. For me, sharing your feedback with people is difficult because I do not want to offend anyone but instead help them improve. During this internship, I tried my best to not stress out during times where my team and I struggled. Something important I learned as well is to never forget my roots because that is what makes up me as a person. It was nice to hear and relate to other peoples experiences in school as latino students. My team is doing "How can latino parents be more involved in their child's education?" We did this because many Hispanic students tend to graduate but don't often pursue higher education. Many Hispanic parents do not talk about the college process with their children and vice versa. This internship helped me learn more about college and the struggles that come with it.
