Mushrooms are all about connection. They talk to one another underground via the mycelial network: a web of thread-like structures that connect mushrooms to each other and to the numerous trees they have a symbiotic relationship with. They also connect states, breaking down dead plants and animals into raw materials for re-use elsewhere in nature. This piece is about how the fallen, whether trees or people, are similarly connected, and similarly on the brink of transformation. Painted during a time of personal and communal change!
